Second in our series of experimental music nights sees the staging of the "Sonic Fruit and Veg Machine" and Live looping bass virtuoso, Liam Lee-Hines.
"Sonic Fruit & Veg Machine" is a piece devised by Lyndon Owen to encourage audiences to partake in new music after the Welsh “Fire-Break” finished (31/10/20) during the covid pandemic. Its a project which conformed to all the social distancing regulations whilst still managing to engage as many people as possible regardless of their musical skill or aptitude.
It is based on the fruit and vegetable intake for a typical day, and at what time, of four households who happen to be vegans. It embraces the non-elitist socialist approach towards composition shown by Cornelius Cardew and his contemporaries. There's a blog at https://lyndonowen.cymru/sonic-fruit-and-veg-machine/.
Do you like Fruit?
Do you like Veg?
Do you like making music by sticking Fruit and Veg on prongs?
If you answer YES to any of the above then this is the gig for you

Liam Lee-Hines is a virtuosic bass player utilising an extensive array of electronics to build multilayered soundscapes. Known for his work in the #plaguedoctorscureall, his unique approach to playing always grooves and yet extends way beyond most peoples' experience of electric bass playing. A deep musical sensitivity and profound proficiency on the instrument are self-evident and leave any audience wanting more.
